Grassland’s Irrigation Division is a diverse group of dedicated professionals, who have been assembled to provide Grassland customers
with the finest design, sales, and service possible. A “team” in the truest sense of the word, this group works in harmony with one another, fully supporting each other, enabling Grassland to better
support their clients. We would like to introduce you to the Grassland Irrigation team.
Kirk H. Pogge, PE, CID, CGIA, CLIA, CIC, SCPS, CSE
President, CEO
Irrigation Division Manager
Kirk has been directly involved with the success of Grassland since 1988. Prior to coming to Grassland, Kirk had 11 years of experience as a consulting engineer. He possesses a Bachelor of Science in Civil
Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration, from RPI. Kirk is also a licensed Professional Engineer in New York State, an IA Certified Irrigation Designer as well as a Certified Golf Irrigation
Auditor, Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor, and Certified Irrigation Contractor. He has represented the Northeastern Toro distributors as a member of Toro’s Irrigation Advisory Board 1994 to
2001. Kirk also serves on Toro’s Partners in Excellence Task Force. He oversees the day-to-day operation of the Irrigation Division. He works in our Latham facility at: (800) 564-5587 ext. 111.
Jay Swanson, CID, CGIA, CLIA, SCPS
Irrigation Design Specialist / Golf Project Manager
Jay is the head of our design center. Jay is responsible for all the golf and residential/commercial
irrigation designs. Jay is an IA Certified Irrigation Designer, a Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor and a Certified Golf Irrigation Auditor. Jay has 17 years AutoCad experience as well as 5 years in
manufacturing engineering. Jay joined the Grassland team in 2000 after relocating from Jamestown, NY. He works in our Latham Design Center.
Alan Siegel, CGIA
Golf Irrigation Specialist
Alan is the Irrigation Specialist for Central New York. He has represented both the Residential/Commercial and Golf product lines since 1998. Alan is a former Landscape Contractor in California, and most
recently with Critz Farms, a Syracuse-based Landscape Contractor. He has an AA in Business Management. Alan works out of our Liverpool location and can be reached at (800) 564-5297 ext. 31.
Don Zink
Golf Field Service Technician
Don has over 28 years of experience in electronics, computer repair, and system analysis. He has his degree in Mechanical Technology, and has training in Customer
Relations. He has also been certified to perform radio site surveys required to prepare an FCC license for radio systems. His field troubleshooting abilities enable him to diagnose problems and provide
solutions for Toro Irrigation customers throughout Grassland’s marketing area. Don can be reached in our Latham Office at: (800) 564-5587 ext. 119
John McFetters
Inside Sales & Service
John is the irrigation warehouse manager. He joined Grassland in 1997 after 29 years of inside-sales and warehouse management for a
RV parts distributor. John is responsible for maintaining the irrigation parts warehouse, filling orders and counter sales. He can be reached in Latham at: (800) 564-5587 ext. 119.
James Bondi
Parts / Purchasing Manager
Jim has been with Grassland equipment for over twenty five years. He has extensive experience in inventory control, order processing, and purchasing. Jim has been
recognized for his superior parts fill rates and customer service by being awarded the prestigious “Mr. Parts” award by the Toro Co. This award is given to only one distributor annually. Jim
and a staff of two others have recently taken over the responsibility for all irrigation purchasing for Grassland.
